Lumen Flex in use by wedding photographer Marina!

The photographer Marina specializes in "Boho" wedding photography and likes to work with the warm, woody tones typical of the vintage style. In her work, she shows that "Boho" does not necessarily mean outdoor in a hippie look, but that a bridal couple can also be photographed elegantly indoors in her style. In this article, Marina explains her approach and describes the use of the Lumen Flex.

Equipment for wedding photography

For her pictures, the experienced photographer uses our mobile LED continuous light, the Lumen Flex M. To facilitate taking photos and to give her work that certain something extra, Marina uses the following equipment for her wedding photography:

Thanks to the flexible LED continuous lights, illuminating interiors is no problem and the use of flash is not necessary.

LED continuous light vs. flash light

In wedding photography, most people posing in front of the lens are not experienced models. Marina usually works with people who are not comfortable in front of the camera. Therefore, the LED continuous light has the advantage over a flash light that it does not unnecessarily stress and blind the bridal couple, which makes taking pictures considerably easier. Another advantage is the parallel possibility of recording video material, which would not be possible with flash light.

Set-up for wedding photography

Weddings always present photographers with the challenge that they cannot work in their own studio and therefore need light and quickly assembled equipment. The mobile LED continuous light allows flexible use thanks to the dual power supply. Battery operation also has enormous advantages, as the LED continuous lights can be used flexibly and quickly carried from one place to another. Marina explains the set-up with the Lumen Flex series in detail:

First setting

In the first shooting set, both flexible LED continuous lights were used. They were draped in such a way that they perfectly supported the natural light from the windows and amplified the light incidence so much that the viewer did not notice the use of additional lights.

Second setting

In the second shoot, only one of the LED continuous lights was used. The mat was turned towards the ceiling, which reflected and diffused the natural light. A great effect in closed rooms.

Third setting

In this setting too, only one of the lights was used. The flexible LED continuous light was placed behind the model here and created a slightly dreamy effect as the bride looked at herself in the mirror.

Device data of the Lumen-Flex series

The Lumen-Flex series offers photographers the great advantage of a dual power supply, which makes the mobile LED continuous light flexible to use. The Lumen Flex M can be operated with a light temperature of 3,000 to 5,500 Kelvin and offers a very natural light due to the setting options, which is particularly suitable for wedding photography.

Conclusion

For a wedding, the LED continuous lights are ideally suited, as they are handy, light and flexible to use. The battery operation makes setting up the set enormously easier and prevents unnecessary tripping hazards at the workplace. Marina also raved about the easy handling via the app, which especially simplified setting the correct light temperature. This is very important for her personal photography style.

However, the photographer had to admit one small drawback. The monitor display was sometimes difficult to read in daylight and she would like an additional small compartment in the bag. We are happy to take this on board and try to implement it in product optimization.
