Professional photographer Stephan Wiesner has also made a YouTube review of the new 56mm lens (APS-C), which Rollei is currently launching in cooperation with Viltrox.
The lens also exists for Fuji and also as a 33mm variant, which we have linked here.
While Stephan Wiesner goes into the individual characteristics of the lens, he discusses, for example, the metal craftsmanship of the lens, which, as he says, makes the lens feel very high-quality. The processing of the glass also plays a role, as the professional photographer explains. He then dedicates himself to the bokeh, which is beautifully presented in the video and which he describes as “very, very smooth”. This is particularly true at wide apertures. "I'd say up to f/2.0, it's very nice; if you have flowers in the background or lights, you can take great portraits with it."

Wiesner also beautifully explains the particularly fast autofocus in the video by focusing the camera sometimes on a houseplant, sometimes on a picture on the wall, and sometimes on a mannequin. Each time, the autofocus reliably hits the desired target and quickly focuses on the subject. Of course, as is typical in Stephan Wiesner's videos on this topic, he has also photographed a test chart again, which shows that everything is clearly visible. The photographer is "very satisfied" with this result, as he explains.

| ISO | Shutter speed | Focal length | Aperture |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | 1/125 sec. | 56 mm | 1.4 |
Conclusion: "It's a standard lens for portrait photography, and you can do that very, very well with it," explains Wiesner. The price-performance ratio also pleases the professional photographer. "This performance in this price range is not to be taken for granted."
The test charts from Stephan Wiesner's video are available here.
