Stephan Wiesner and the Lion Rock Series
As early as the beginning of 2024, professional photographer Stephan Wiesner had the opportunity to test the new Lion Rock Pro in practice before its official launch. He took it with him on his trip to the island of Senja, Norway's second-largest island, which belongs to the Troms county. The island is located about 350 km north of the Arctic Circle, and when Wiesner was there, it was deep winter – perfect conditions to put the new Lion Rock Pro through its paces.
In his video about the trip, he not only presents the highlights of the new Pro model but also shows two settings where different features of the tripod were particularly helpful to him.
Setting 1: Rock Formation
For the safety of his camera and stable support during shooting, Wiesner used the integrated and newly designed spikes. These spikes literally "claw" into the ground, enabling safe work even on slippery rocks and uneven terrain. This allowed Wiesner to work steadily and take shake-free shots.
Setting 2: The Rocks in the Sea
Particularly exciting for Wiesner was the redesigned tripod head of the Lion Rock Pro. In the second setting, he demonstrated how he could rotate the tripod head without losing its balanced position. This allowed him to finalize the framing at leisure, even with constantly changing waves. With a tripod, Wiesner could wait for the perfect moment for his subject without having to hold the camera in his hand and risk it shaking.

Wiesner was very satisfied after the test and shared that the tripod would accompany him on future trips. He was particularly impressed by the balance between self-weight and load capacity.
