From landscape photography to street photography, and even wedding and automotive photography – Hakan Demirdas is a photographer who loves versatility. For about 10 years, his passion for photography has burned, ignited by his first drone and the fascinating feeling of capturing the world from above. Today, he shows us how he creates a cool fashion shoot in an unusual location with our latest generation HS Freeze strobes.
Versatility as a Strength: Hakan's Photographic Journey
"It has always been important to me to be a multifaceted photographer," Hakan explains his philosophy. After his beginnings in landscape photography and two intense years of street photography, he accidentally discovered wedding photography – and found his calling in capturing genuine emotions and unforgettable moments.
Later, automotive photography was added, a passion that arose from a collaboration with a friend's car dealership. "The interplay of reflections, design lines, and light always fascinates me anew," Hakan describes his passion. His portfolio is complemented by product photography, where he precisely highlights even the smallest details.
The Concept: Fashion Aesthetic Meets Industrial Ambiance
For this special shoot, Hakan had a clear vision: to create a relaxed yet cool atmosphere reminiscent of a professional fashion shoot – dynamic, modern, and with a high-quality look. The challenge was to implement this fashion style in an unconventional setting.
The solution was found in a friend's car wrapping workshop. "The place not only offered a cool, industrial backdrop with interesting lighting, but also had the advantage that my friend himself was available as a model," Hakan explains the choice of location. The authentic environment perfectly matched the idea of a casual, fashion-like look.
The HS Freeze X-Series: Power and Flexibility for Creative Setups
To achieve the desired visual language, Hakan relied on the HS Freeze 4x and 2x studio strobes. "They not only delivered the necessary power, but also the flexibility to position the light exactly as needed for the desired style," the photographer reports enthusiastically.
Particularly the light stands with heights of 480 cm and 300 cm proved crucial for the creative setups. They allowed for targeted light accents and plenty of scope for variation, without being restricted in positioning.
Convincing Results
"What makes my results special are primarily the reactions of the people who see them," Hakan reflects on his work. While he critically examines his own pictures – an important part of his creative process – it is precisely the positive reactions of others that motivate him to constantly improve.
The shoot went exactly as he had imagined: "From the light to the mood to the image effect – everything fit together perfectly." The combination of a professional lighting setup, targeted fog use, and a flexible camera system allowed him to create the image effect exactly as he had envisioned it.

Hakan had already tested various Rollei products, including the Lux, Candela, and Freeze series. His conclusion is unequivocally positive: "The products are excellently suited for creative work and offer me, as a photographer, the necessary flexibility and quality I need in everyday life."
