Variable ND8-512 filter - Steplessly adjustable ND filter

Our successful "F:X Pro Filter" series has received an extremely practical addition. And this time, it's a filter that comes with a truly exciting innovation. Because here you get an ND filter that is not designed for just one strength, but is variable.

This means that you can steplessly adjust the filter to any motif situation between the strengths ND8 and ND512. To ensure that you can set exactly the strength you need, we have added the aperture stops between 3 and 9 to the side of the filter. Do you want to photograph a sunrise and a tourist attraction and would normally need two different strengths for this? No problem. The variable ND combines both required strengths in one.

With an ND filter, you can take magically drawn pictures with longer exposure times even in bright sunshine. You can blur moving elements of your image composition, which, when taking a picture of a river, for example, makes the water look silky – while unmoving parts of the image are sharply drawn because they are not moving. These filters therefore reduce the visible light that falls on the camera's image sensor through a neutral grey coating. Our coating has an extremely high light transmission and colour neutrality.

However, the filter is not only suitable for photography but also for videography. For example, if you want to shoot a video in a really bright environment, such as on a light-filled beach. Then a small pair of sunglasses is good not only for you but also for your camera.

The glass from which the filters are made is the absolutely proven premium filter glass that is used in our F:X-Pro rectangular filters and also in our drone filters. A special manufacturing process makes it legendary for its resistance.
