F:X Pro magnetic Soft GND16 round filter Mark II

Magnetic Round Soft GND16 Graduated Filter

With the F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND16 Filter Mark II, we offer the F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND8 Filter Mark II in a higher gray density.

GND stands for graduated neutral density, where the density of the gray increases with higher numbers. Like the GND8 filter, this filter has a softly graduated transition, which can be used to compensate for brightness differences in the image. The gradient is adjusted via the axis of rotation. And since the filter is magnetically attached to the lens, it is sufficient to simply turn the graduated filter. An extra rotating thread on the filter is no longer necessary.

Depending on the diameter of the lens, the filter is mounted via the F:X Pro Magnetic Base Ring Mark II or one of the F:X Pro Magnetic Step-Up Rings Mark II.

What are GND filters used for?

Unlike normal ND filters, Soft GND filters are used for subjects where the brightness ratios have a gradient and therefore require a soft transition for a evenly exposed image. An ideal application for a Soft GND filter would be, for example, a mountain landscape where the lighting conditions cause the foreground of the image to appear darker than the background – but where the horizon line is not particularly clearly defined. A Soft Graduated Neutral Density filter can perfectly compensate for such a scenario.

Our Soft GND16 has a density of 1.2 and an f-stop of 4 stops. One stop means that the amount of light falling on the sensor is reduced by one f-stop.

Versatile magnetic round filter

The F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND16 Filter Mark II can be easily combined with our other magnetic filters from the F:X Pro Magnetic Round Filters Mark II series. Thanks to its two magnetic sides, it can be easily attached to the separately available magnetic base ring or a magnetic step-up ring, and another filter can be attached. It is also quickly stowed away when not needed.

Discover the entire magnetic filter range

To do this, the filter can simply be connected to another filter from the F:X Pro Magnetic Round Filters Mark II series via the magnets and closed with the optionally available F:X Pro Magnetic End Cap Mark II and F:X Pro Magnetic Front Cap Mark II.

Further accessories available

By the way: You can also simply leave the magnetic base ring or magnetic step-up ring mounted on your lens. The F:X Pro Magnetic Front Cap Mark II can then be used as a lens cap. To safely transport your magnetic filters, we recommend an additional F:X Pro Magnetic Front Cap Mark II. This way, your magnetic filters remain well-packed, while you can use them even faster: remove the front cap from the lens, attach the magnetic filter, and you're ready to go.

With the F:X Pro Magnetic Step-Up Rings Mark II, the magnetic filters with an 82 mm diameter can be easily mounted on filter threads with a smaller diameter of 62, 67, 72 or 77 mm. So if you own several lenses with different diameters, we recommend purchasing magnetic filters with a diameter of 82 mm and corresponding step-up rings in the diameters of your lenses. This way, you can quickly and easily use all lenses with the magnetic filters.

More about the F:X Pro Magnetic Round Filter Series

Like all filters in the F:X Pro series, we have also equipped the F:X Pro Magnetic Soft GND16 Filter Mark II with our self-developed F:X Pro Coating, which ensures that your images are always razor-sharp, even with extremely high-resolution cameras with 150 megapixels. The reflection-free property of our F:X Pro filters is also 99.5%. With these filters, you get exemplary color fidelity – and reproduce your subject true to life.

To provide you with products that you will enjoy for a long time, our filters are made of premium filter glass. Thanks to a special manufacturing process, it is legendary resistant and at the same time guarantees extremely high light transmission and color neutrality. Our Anti-Scratch coating gives the filter glass its final hardness against mechanical impacts and ensures that even dirt from grease, water or mud can be removed quickly and effortlessly.

But our filters are not only scratch-resistant – they are also temperature-resistant. We have tested this under the highest quality standards in scorching heat and also biting cold. In short: they are the best filters we have ever built.

For mounting the F:X Pro Magnetic Round Filters Mark II on the lens, the F:X Pro Magnetic Base Ring Mark II or an F:X Pro Magnetic Step-Up Ring Mark II is required.
