Description

The phenomenon of ever-increasing light pollution not only impairs the quality of nighttime cityscapes and architectural photographs, but even scientific astrophotography is virtually impossible in urban areas. Large reflecting telescopes are therefore located on mountain peaks, islands, or in deserted areas without noticeable light pollution. "Normal" professional and amateur photographers can now use the new Rollei Astroklar round filter to reduce the unwanted effect of light pollution and give their photos more contrast and clarity.

Works reliably against light pollution...

Thanks to a special coating, the new Rollei Astroklar round filter largely reduces unwanted yellow and orange light components, ensuring that even intricate structures and transitions are still properly rendered and do not "break out". The night and star-filled sky, partially or sparsely illuminated building panoramas gain significantly in contrast and detail, and even extremely distant and barely visible stars can appear clearly and distinctly in astrophotos. Choose between four common lens diameters for astrophotography and city photography – the Rollei Astroklar round filter is available in 39, 40.5, 46, 49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77, 82, 86, 95 and 105 mm. Due to the special anti-light pollution coating, your shots will be slightly cooler, with blue and green tones understandably predominating. To counteract this if necessary, you should perform a manual white balance when working with the Astroklar filter. Our recommendation: Choose a color temperature between +700 K and +1,500 K of the white balance performed without a filter to achieve authentic colors in the final result.

... and safely repels water, oil and dirt

The enormous everyday usability of the new Rollei Astroklar round filter is guaranteed by an elaborate and double-sided nano-coating of the high-quality optical glass. This coating permanently reduces unwanted light reflections, which can ruin the entire shot, especially during long night exposures. Furthermore, the protective layer repels dirt, oil, and water almost like a magnet; any residues can be easily removed with a quick wipe of the care and cleaning cloth.

The result: High-contrast astrophotography and night shots

The anti-light pollution coating of the Astroklar round filters leads to a reduction in general light transmission by a 2/3 stop. Regardless of whether you use the filter individually or in combination with other optics, the use of a tripod and a cable or radio release ensures that you can save razor-sharp images to your camera's memory card.

If you want to make it easier to rearrange your studio and, for example, don't want to constantly carry tripods around, our tripod castors are the ideal solution for you. Thanks to their smooth-running bearings and locking brakes, they are particularly easy to handle and assemble and are also suitable for quickly changing the lighting during a shoot.
